What to do in Muskoka this weekend! August 25 - 27

Friday August 25

The Rosseau Farmers’ Market, 9 am – 2 pm, located at the end of Short Street at the Beach/Waterfront site on Lake Rosseau off Hwy 141 – come by car, boat or plane. Weekly live entertainment under the gazebo offers a wide selection of great local artists.  From folk, to steel pan music, from easy rock to some lively fiddle playing, there is something for everyone.

Bracebridge Library, 94 Manitoba Street, 705.645.4171 ~ Science North En Route will host fun, interactive Build it up! workshops (1:30pm to 3:30pm) followed by an amazing show with the Bluecoat scientists. Event is free. Registration required. All ages welcome.

The Baysville Farmers’ Market, 2 – 6 pm, 2611 Muskoka Road, boasts a nice array of vendors selling fruit and vegetables, organic produce, honey, fish and seafood, baking, arts and crafts and Thai food.

Saturday August 26

Bracebridge Farmer’s Market, 120 Manitoba Street, 8:30 am – 1 pm ~ Visit the vendors in beautiful downtown Bracebridge in Memorial Park next to the Norwood Theatre.

The 34th Annual Bracebridge Antique Sale will be held in the Agricultural Building at the Bracebridge Fairgrounds, 331 Fraserburg Road, 10 am – 5 pm. Selected Dealers: Canadiana, furniture, tools, lamps, persian rugs, jewellery, coins, silver, china, paper items, advertising, dolls, pressed glass, toys quilts and linens.

Under One Skin, Huntsville Public Library Annex, 1 Minerva Street, 11 am – 2 pm ~ An exhibition of works by Muskoka artist Kate Brown in celebration of Canada 150.

Last Night at the Proms, Algonquin Theatre, 37 Main Street East, Huntsville, 705.789.4975 ~ Maestro Stratton closes out the 25th Season with the penultimate celebration, and leads the fully professional Festival Orchestra in Last Night at the Proms. Bring your flags and your voices as the Algonquin Theatre becomes the Royal Albert Hall, at least for one night.

Sunday August 27

Arts and Nature Drop off program, Muskoka Lakes Museum in Port Carling, 1:30 – 3 pm. Play some games, try a craft and have fun with nature. There is a new theme each week surrounding arts, crafts and nature. Cost is $2 per child. 705.765.5367.
