What to do in Muskoka on this long weekend! August 4 - 7

Friday August 4, 2017

Sawdust City Music Festival, August 4, 5, 6, is showcasing 3 nights of music at the Sawdust City Brewery, 397 Muskoka Road North in Gravenhurst. Enjoy music at the Opera House, a free Songwriters’ Workshop, a Sawdust Stripped Down acoustic series, and a free concert on Sunday evening as part of the Music on the Barge series (a 50+ year tradition). Additional artists are listed on the web site:

Baysville Farmer’s Market, 2 pm – 6 pm, Baysville Country Store, 2611 Muskoka Rd. 117. This lively market boasts a nice array of vendors selling fruit and vegetables, organic produce, honey, fish and seafood, baking, arts and crafts and Thai food. There are over 12 vendors selling different items such as frozen and fresh meats, home baking, preserves, fresh produce and crafts.

Bracebridge Midnight Madness @ 6 pm. There will be bands at two stages including a new stage at the corner of Ontario Street and Manitoba Street. Enjoy buskers and hula hoopers, and a Memorial Park Kids' Zone with inflatables. There is a minimal charge for some activities.

Toronto All Star Big Band at Huntsville’s Algonquin Theatre, 8 pm. Back by popular demand, this is an ensemble of young, very skilled jazz musicians. Armed with brilliant programming, slick choreography and witty cultural nostalgia, the band revives the spirit, style and sound of 1930’s and 40’s - that golden age of the big bands.
